Ever wanted to transport to another dimension on an intergalactic space adventure with your grandpa? Boy, do we have a show for you. It’s called “Rick and Morty” and it’s currently in its 4th season on Cartoon Network’s late-night programming block, Adult Swim.

Rick and Morty, is a cartoon series from the minds of creators Justin Roiland and Dan Harmond is a series that explores the infinite worlds of its two protagonists Rick, a genius scientist, and his grandson, Morty, an anxious 14 year-old, who often gets tricked into tagging along on Rick’s wild adventures.Throughout the series, viewers are brought along to witness the mischief and mayhem that Rick and Morty get into in their alternative dimensions of reality. Split between their current time and “domestic” life, we are shown their misadventures, interdimensional activities, and of course, their hilariously quotable lines. Speaking of lines, let’s check out some of the best Rick and Morty quotes of this dimension.

  • Rick and Morty co-creator Dan Harmon has finally revealed the meaning behind season 4's Talking Cat, explaining one of the show's biggest mysteries.
  • Directed by Dominic Polcino, Pete Michels. With Justin Roiland, Chris Parnell, Spencer Grammer, Sarah Chalke. Rick and Morty arrive on an alien planet to fix their ship just as the day of the purge begins there, Jerry and Summer work on their father-daughter relationship, but his lack of employment keeps coming up.

1. When we’re reminded to take a chance.

— Rick and Morty (@RickandMorty) December 31, 2020. While it seems like seasons of Rick and Morty are sporadic and rare, the series did return for the second half of Season 4 in 2020. ‘Rick & Morty‘ is so deliberately random, so broad, and yet so myopic in its vision. That is to say, whatever might happen, it doesn’t disintegrate the show’s dynamic, and that is the beauty of the Rick & Morty universe. So, today we bring you the release date for season 4 of Rick & Morty. PICKLE RIIIIIIIIICK! Yeah, it's a Rick and Morty instant classic, but it's got plenty of sins. Here's what we found after soaking in the vinager for a bit.Ne.

“To live is to risk it all.” -Rick

In the episode “Rickmancing the Stone,” Summer and Morty attempt to work through their emotional issues through violence amidst their parents’ divorce. Rick voices the insignificance of their violence, insisting that part of what makes life worth living is taking the risk to do something at all. While Summer and Morty are both entitled to be upset, they’re reminded that everything in life is a gamble and even if you don’t win, you still have to play.

2. When Rick says what we’ve all wanted to say.

“I’m sorry, but your opinion means very little to me.”- Rick

In the episode, “Rick Potion #9” Rick tells Summer off after she insults him by hitting her back with this one- liner. While we can all assume based on Rick’s character that he doesn’t really care about anyone else, hearing him tell this directly to someone was hilarious. Haven’t we all wanted to say this at some point?

3. When Rick takes a stance on sleep schedules.

“What, so everyone’s supposed to sleep every single night now? You realize that nighttime makes up half of all time?”Rick Sanchez

When Summer accuses Morty of staying out with Rick all night in the pilot episode, Rick fires back with this anecdote, showing how his character often defies basic human notions surrounding order and expectations. His incessant desire to explore other dimensions and engage in wild experiments overrules the logic often instilled upon others. Rick lives a lawless (and often sleepless) life. We’ve all been there.

4. When Rick is cynical about love.

“Listen, Morty, I hate to break it to you, but what people call “love” is just a chemical reaction that compels animals to breed. It hits hard, Morty, then it slowly fades, leaving you stranded in a failing marriage. I did it. Your parents are gonna do it. Break the cycle, Morty. Rise above. Focus on science.” – Rick

Ever felt like having a crush on someone was a total waste of time? Rick agrees. This quote, from the episode titled “Rick Potion #9” is Rick’s response to Morty’s infatuation with his classmate, Jessica. While lamenting to his father about his unrequited crush on her, Rick interrupts the two to give Morty his advice. While we can expect Rick to have a somewhat alternative point of view on many subjects, viewers are rarely given insight into Rick’s former relationship with Morty’s grandmother and him chiming in about an emotional experience was unexpected.

5. When Mr. Meeseeks shares the importance of individuality.

“Having a family doesn’t mean that you stop being an individual. You know the best thing you can do for the people that depend on you? Be honest with them, even if it means setting them free.” – Mr. Meeseeks

For many parents, getting married and having children changes everything. Careers are put on hold, plans are diverted, priorities are reordered. When Beth confides to Mr. Meeseeks in the episode “Meeseeks and Destroys” that she often wonders how her life would be different if she weren’t married with kids, he reminds her that just because she has those things doesn’t mean that she stopped being her own person, and that she should still try to be honest with her husband even if it means letting him go.

6. When Rick shares some heartfelt motivation.

“Listen to me, Morty. I know that new situations can be intimidating. You’re lookin’ around and it’s all scary and different, but y’know … meeting them head-on, charging into ‘em like a bull — that’s how we grow as people.” – Rick

While this quote from Rick in the pilot episode is actually used as a somewhat disingenuous pep talk to persuade a hesitant Morty from joining him on an adventure, it still resonates as a line with a lot of truth to it. Rick rattles of this line about facing your fears and challenges which essentially foreshadows what Morty will be doing the entire series. Rick is typically a cynical character with a lot of skepticism and hearing him say something inspirational (albeit somewhat ill-intended) was an unexpected change for his character.

7. When Rick reminds us not to get in our heads.

“If I let you make me nervous, then we can’t get schwifty” -Rick

When Morty is getting frustrated with Rick (who is in the recording studio with Ice-T hoping to record a smash intergalactic hit) Rick tells Morty that he isn’t going to allow Morty’s vibes to affect him. This quote is interesting for several reasons. Firstly, because it shows that Rick is even capable of being nervous, and secondly because it shares the notion that we allow other people to inhibit our own feelings, and that just because someone else feels a certain way doesn’t mean that we necessarily should feel that way too.

8. When Unity shares a revelation.

“I realize now I’m attracted to you for the same reason I can’t be with you; you can’t change. And I have no problem with that but it clearly means I have a problem with myself.”- Unity

During the third episode of season two, Unity, Rick’s former flame, leaves him with a note with this message. In an unexpected character move, Rick is crushed by the realization that not only has Unity left him, but that she was right in saying that he would never change. While the quote was given in a breakup letter sharing their flaws, it also shows that sometimes loving someone who might be bad for you can stem from an internal insecurity you never realized you had. Deep stuff for a cartoon character, amirite?

9. When Morty throws his anxiety out the window.

“Mr. President, if I’ve learned one thing today it’s that sometimes you have to not give a f*ck!”- Morty.

When the President is clumsily flying a plane with Morty en route to a concert, Morty tells him this to ease his worries, and he’s right. Sometimes, the best thing you can do is not care. Although, if you must choose something not to care about, we sure hope it’s not plane safety. You should definitely know about that.

10. When Rick points out that the best plan is not having one.

“That’s planning for failure Morty. Even dumber than regular planning.” – Rick

In the fifth episode of season two, Rick laments to Morty about the uselessness of trying to come up with a plan. Morty’s desire to have a plan is often overruled by Rick’s sporadic scientific schemes and this is just another example of that. While we all get caught up trying to organize things that we want to happen, none of us can ever really know that our plans actually will happen until and if they do.

11. When Morty has thoughts on existensialism.

“Nobody exists on purpose”- Morty

In the episode, “Rixty Minutes”, Morty explains to Summer how quickly life can change and how not everything they do matters. He says this because he realizes that not everything has to have a purpose and that existing in itself is purposeful enough. Pretty enlightening when you think about it.

12. When Beth gives Summer some advice.

“Don’t make the same mistakes I made. Don’t deify the people who leave you.” – Beth

In season three, episode one, Beth tells Summer not to be worried about Rick who has gone missing. She advises Summer not to worship someone who chose to leave her. While we often see Rick engaging in space shenanigans and expect him to be gone on some adventure, we forget how this impacts his family, and how it’s likely had a deep impression on his daughter, Beth.

13. When Morty realizes it’s okay to make mistakes as long as you learn from them.

“How many of these are just horrible mistakes I made? I mean, maybe I’d stop making so many if I let myself learn from them.”- Morty

During the episode, “Morty’s Mind Blowers”, Morty learns that there are hundreds of events that he has had Rick erase from his memory. Feeling tired of remembering the same loop of events, he insists that Rick restore his memories back. Upon realizing that he had made several of the same bad decisions, he laments how if he had just accepted making them in the first place instead of trying to rid them from his recollection, he might not be so prone to making the same mistakes again.

14. When Jerry drops a truth bomb.

“Life is effort. I’ll stop when I die!”- Jerry

This quote, from the episode “Raising Gazorpazorp” is said by Jerry in a state of frustration towards Beth who asks him why he would bother trying to get a retort back at Rick who had insulted him. Even though it’s a bit nonsensical in that of course you must stop whatever you’re doing when you die, it shows his character as not only the comedic relief, but also as stating something quite poignant. Life is showing up and trying and doing because life is effort.

15. When Summer shows she has a heart.

“You don’t love people in hopes of a reward, Dad. You love them unconditionally.”- Summer

In the finale of season two, “The Wedding”, Summer explains to her father that even though Rick doesn’t exactly show care for his family the same way most people would, he still deserves to be loved. Summer and Rick don’t have the best relationship and the fact that she was still sticking up for him shows that she really does care about him, despite his selfishness. At this point, even Morty was feeling frustrated with his absent grandfather, but Summer’s comment changed that.

16. When Rick reminds Morty that he’s in charge of how his emotions.

It’s your choice to take this personally”- Rick

In the episode, “Close Rick-Counters of the Rick Kind,” Morty finds out that Rick isn’t hanging out with him because he enjoys his company or thinks they’re close, but rather because Morty’s brainwaves apparently camouflage Rick’s allowing him safe transport throughout the dimensions. Even though the comments leading up to this quote from Rick were rude, there is a lot of truth to the statement. Rick tells Morty that he has the ability to control his reaction, which is something we all need to be reminded.

17. When Rick defines science.

“Sometimes science is more art than science.” -Morty

In the episode, “Rick Potion #9” Rick tries explaining that science isn’t a perfect experience to Morty who assumes Rick has it all figured out. Rick expresses that science is often not as precise as one might think and that it’s often just trial by error. While art is appreciated for its uniqueness and ambiguity, science is often held to different standards despite needing to go through many different experiments and phases, much like artwork.

18. When Rick knows context is everything.

“If you spend all day shuffling words around, you can make anything sound bad.”- Rick

During the second episode of season 2, “Mortynight Run”, Morty laments some of Rick’s choices. After Rick seemingly sells a gun to a murderer, Morty tries to save the life of a gas creature that’s being hunted by the very person Rick sold the gun to. Rick’s response to Morty’s questioning is that everything can be twisted to sound bad if you want it to, which is certainly something that’s true in many cases today. If you want something to sound bad, you take the context out of it, and in this case, Rick knew that selling the gun to the assassin would be the best case scenario for that universe.

19. When Jerry realizes the value of self-talk.

“If I’ve learned one thing, it’s that before you get anywhere in life, you gotta stop listening to yourself”- Jerry

During the episode, “Close Rick-counters of the Rick Kind” Jerry offers up some advice to “Doofus Rick” who has just told Jerry that he’s the worst Rick of all. While Rick and Jerry historically have a poor relationship, Jerry and Doofus Rick get along and even seem to like each other. This quote from Jerry holds a lot of truth to it in that oftentimes we are what’s holding ourselves back and that we shouldn’t always listen to our internal narrative.

20. When Rick gets real about being present.

“I think you have to think ahead and live in the moment” – Rick

In the episode, Edge of Tomorty: Rick, Die, Rickpeat, Morty snags a ‘death crystal’ which has the power to show him various possible deaths depending on his decisions. When he sees a future in which he dies old with his longtime crush, Jessica, he starts making every decision that will lead to that outcome– even though many of his decisions that were made to promise that future negatively impact him in the present. This quote from Rick, who is advising Morty not to base his every life decision on what the crystal shows him, emphasizes the importance of not ever missing out on the life that’s happening now by spending too much time trying to figure out the future.
